HOW IT WORKS
The goals of gynecomastia surgery are a decrease the volume of non-muscle tissue in the chest area to decrease projection and volume of the chest tissues. The exact technique of the surgery will depend on the size and nature of the tissue causing the volume. Dr. Beber typically is able to remove both the fatty tissue as well as the firmer glandular tissue from the chest using a small incision on each side of the chest. Liposuction if first used to remove the fatty component, followed by removal of the gland using specialized instruments through the same small incison. Occasionally the firm glandular tissue will require an incision around part of the areola to remove it, although that is not common. It important to note that removal of the tissue does not make the overlying chest skin tighter. Those individuals with more loose skin on their chest may require later surgery or non-surgical treatments to help the skin contract after removal of the inside tissue. Dr. Beber will assess the chest wall tissues at your consult to help determine if you are a good candidate for this procedure or if you are at higher risk of more skin laxity after surgery

PROCESS

- An examination of your chest tissues including skin quality and elasticity, tissue position, amount of tissue and quality of the tissues.
- An in depth explanation of the surgery, including recovery, risks, complications and expected outcomes.
- A preoperative apppointment several weeks before surgery to answer any further questions you may have, to finalize the surgical plan with you, to provide you with your prescriptions prior to surgery, and to complete all necessary paperwork, and arrange your first follow up appointment.
- Multiple routine follow up appointments with the team to monitor your progress, maximize healing, and optimize scar management.

Potential risks are minimal and may include temporary swelling, bruising, or asymmetry. Serious complications are rare but may include infection, allergic reactions or vascular occlusions.
Dermal fillers may not be suitable for individuals with certain medical conditions, autoimmune disorders, allergies to filler components, pregnant or breastfeeding women. A thorough consultation with a qualified provider is necessary to determine eligibility.
Pre-care instructions may include avoiding blood-thinning medications or alcohol. Post-care may involve gentle skincare, avoiding strenuous activities, and refraining from massaging the treated areas for a short period following treatment.No strenous activity fo 48-72h, no facials or other profesional treatments over injected areas for 2 weeks, no travel or flying within 5 days post injections
